- Purpose of this project
In this project, I'll make a spreadsheet program. There are lots of spreadsheet programs up to now. But almost all good programs are commercial, or if those are not commercial programs, it's very hard to handle them. Mostly free statistical spreadsheet focused on specific professionals. For that reason, I decided to make a new program for normal users who are interested in statistical data analysis and data handling.
- Tech in use
To add reliance, I'll use two free soft wares. The one is R(official name is R-Project) and the other is java. To link those programs, I’ll use 'omega' package(R is written in C language, so I need a linker). The R project is very famous for statisticians. It's very accurate and openwise. Because it's an opensource program, many professionals update that program. Although it’s very powerful, because it’s very hard to operate (it's run with command line), using a java, I'll make a swt program to use that program easily.
- Plans for future
step1 (for one week): I'll make a blue print and make a plan about relationships on classes. And I'll have to establish philosophies on this program.
step2 (for one month): After making a plan, I'll start coding. And then I'll start to find another volunteer to help my project.
step3 (for one year): I'll make a community for this free software project, and with others' needs, I'll publish my first 1.0 version.
step4: With steps so far, I'll develop this program easier and more comfortable to use ordinary people.
